Welcome to the Combining Algal and Plant Photosynthesis project website
The ultimate aim of the ambitious CAPP project is to introduce elements of algal photosynthetic systems into the model land plant Arabidopsis thaliana, to increase its photosynthetic efficiency. If successful, this may help pave the way for the production of “super-efficient” crop plants in the future.
This website provides background information on the science behind CAPP, relevant resources for teachers of GCSE, 16-18 year old and undergraduate level students, as well as latest updates on CAPP, the field in general and associated educational outreach projects.
